Description
Finished with a lovely stone polish, this traditional bowl by Santa Clara potter Candelaria Suazo showcases reoccurring feather patterns etched just below the polished but otherwise unadorned rim, followed by an intricate, traditional avanyu serpent which appears to be following a kokopelli. The segment of the bowl etched with the avanyu and kokopelli patterns also features clouds and additional feathers, the etching, otherwise known as sgraffito, uncovering the bowl’s base buff color, providing a beautiful juxtaposition and allowing the patterns to stand out. 3 1/2″ tall x 4 1/2″ wide.
