Beautiful ricolite varying off-white to grey to lime green is carved into a parrot in this fun stone fetish by Zuni carver Abby Quam. The parrot’s wings are pinned to its sides and etched with curved lines, while its eyes are finished with turquoise inlay and a turquoise inlay heartline runs down its front. Parrots are often said to symbolize the sun, with colorful plumage recalling the rainbow. Parrots are also said to have led Pueblo people to water after they arrived with the Spaniards. 1 3/4″ tall x 3/4″ wide x 3 1/4″ long.
