Handmade by Navajo artist Victor Abeita, this fun, large kachina doll depicts a bear. The entire body of the bear is covered in brown fur, his arms outstretched and finished with black wooden claws. The top of the bear’s head is finished with brown and purple feathers, along with black and white ears, while its body is covered in brown and cream felt, crisscrossed along the chest and surrounding the waist and legs. Cream felt fringe hangs from the bear’s arms, and his eyes and mouth are painted black and white, with a red felt tongue sticking out of the mouth. The bear is said to represent great power to cure the sick. 15″ tall x 8 1/2″ wide x 6″ deep.
