Description

Turquoise, golden mother of pearl, pink mussel shell, coral and jet combine with sterling silver to form this gorgeous hummingbird pendant by Zuni silversmith Tamara Pinto.  The head and half of the hummingbird’s wings are inlaid with turquoise, while the remaining half of the wings features pink mussel shell.  The head also is set with a small coral piece, while the entirety of the body is inlaid with golden mother of pearl featuring jet accents. Tail feathers are inlaid with malachite and coral, and the hummingbird’s eye and beak are inlaid with jet, while sterling silver slivers separate much of the inlay work.  Etched stones give the piece a more life-like appearance.  2 1/4″ long including bail x 1 5/8″ wide.
