Description

This small, beautifully etched jar featuring multiple designs comes out of Mata Ortiz, Mexico, by potter Mariela Tena.  The piece’s body is predominantly black, etched to show a buff base in various designs.  A reoccurring triangular and floral pattern covers much of the piece’s body, while round panels showcase birds and insects, including a butterfly, roadrunner, dragonfly, ladybug and quail.  These panels feature a buff backdrop surrounded by a red border, etched with triangle and dot patterns.  A beautiful, high-shine polish finishes the piece.  4 5/8″ tall x 4″ wide.
