Description

Handmade, etched and painted by Mata Ortiz potter Octavio Silveria, this impressively detailed jar showcases reoccurring flower and hummingbird designs along the majority of its body.  The rim of the piece is painted solid black, giving way to reoccurring geometric designs and another solid black line.  Below, fine lines are etched along the entirety of the piece’s body, some of which are covered in larger hummingbird and flower patterns painted in black, outlined in turquoise and red.  Various colors appear within the fine line etching, including buff, red, green, and blue, while the base of the piece is left black and only features etch marks exposing the buff underneath.  5 3/4″ tall x 5″ wide.
