Description
A single, large oval piece of blue and green azurite creates the body of this beautiful maiden ring by Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration. Bennie, known for his maiden pieces, created this with azurite as the focal point, set in a simple sterling silver bezel and surrounded at the base by a sterling silver rope pattern. This, in turn, is surrounded by a sterling band stamped with scallop patterns and appliqued on each side at the top with a row of sterling silver dots. Protruding from the top of the stone is a sterling silver maiden’s head, complete with deeply grooved rectangular eyes and a round, appliqued mouth. The forehead is stamped with fine lines, representing hair, and a sterling bun rests on either side of the head, also stamped with fine lines. Stone and silverwork are set atop a split sterling silver shank that merges 1/4 of the way toward the back. Fits ring size 6 3/4. 1 3/4″ long x 1 1/8″ wide.
