Description
Made entirely of clay, this unique Hopi piece forms a rattle, a rare form of pottery from any Pueblo. The piece features a buff backdrop and is painted with a turtle along the top portion, surrounded by wave and flower designs in black and red. The handle of the piece is polished, and the inside of the rattle contains what are presumably small pebbles, so that the piece does in fact make noise when shaken. 4 1/2″ long x 2 3/4″ wide.
