Description
Featuring the less often seen seated male, this beautiful, traditional storyteller figurine was handmade by Jemez potter Sharela Waquie. The man sits with legs outstretched, a drum in one and and drum beater in the other, while flanked by five children. One child rests on its stomach atop is head, while two more children rest on each shoulder. The remaining two children are found along the man’s legs, with all children holding what appear to be leaves. All figurines are painted vibrantly in blues, purples, whites, reds, pinks and blacks, while the drum is painted in black, white, red, and yellow. 7″ tall x 3 3/4″ wide x 4″ deep.
