Jemez potter Chrislyn Fragua, known for her fun and whimsical figurines, created this piece to depict a traditional corn maiden. The maiden stands tall, her mouth open and eyes expressive, while red and buff corn kernels are set in three vertical rows along the front of her body. The maiden’s body is wrapped in a corn husk painted in grey and red with black accents creating geometric and traditional patterns, while a butterfly rests at the front of her body. 4 7/8″ tall x 1 1/2″ wide x 2 1/4″ deep.
