Three children rest atop the lap of a seated woman in this adorable storyteller figurine by Jemez potter Chrislyn Fragua. The woman rests with both legs outstretched, a shawl wrapped over her shoulders and three children, two boys and one girl, in her lap. The girl holds a basket, while one boy holds a football and the other, a basketball, each figure with its mouth open and eyes wide and expressive. The woman’s cheeks are rosy and hair is pulled up into a bun on each side of her head, while the little girl’s hair is twisted off to one side with a flower on top. The woman’s shawl features traditional designs painted in black, red, brown and grey. 5 1/4″ tall x 2 3/4″ wide x 4 1/4″ deep.
