Description
A seated woman rests with one child and a piece of pottery in her lap in this traditional storyteller figurine by Jemez potter Joyce Lucero. The woman’s head is tilted upward, her eyes looking up, mouth open and cheeks rosy. She sits with her knees bent and facing the same direction, a little boy held on one side of her lap and a piece of pottery opposite, the pot painted in flower and step patterns in black and red. The boy smiles, one hand to his mouth, painted in a brown and black onesie. The woman is finished with a turquoise painted squash blossom necklace, her clothes black, red and buff. 3 3/4″ tall x 3″ wide x 3 5/8″ deep.
