Description
Depicting a traditional koshare, this beautiful, smaller scale piece was handmade by Laguna potter Myron Sarracino. The piece showcases only the koshare’s head, round and including two spouts protruding upward and finished with straw. The koshare’s face is painted in black, white and red, one eye mostly red and the other white, both with black accents. The piece showcases multiple fine line designs set both below the mouth and surrounding the head at sides and back, as well as a single tularosa design, a signature of Myron’s, at the back of the head. Koshare’s are considered clowns and tricksters in many Native American cultures. 10 1/2″ tall x 5 1/2″ wide.
