Description
Carved entirely from brownish-red pipestone, this unique fetish by Zuni artist Carlton Comosona depicts a mountain lion. The mountain lion’s back is hunched and tail sloped downward, as if in a crouch, with its eyes finished with turquoise pieces and body etched with a kokopelli, a whirlwind and a lightning pattern. In many Native American cultures, the mountain lion is considered a resourceful leader. 1 5/8″ tall 1″ wide x 4 1/4″ long.
